Math Intervention Toolkits

Welcome to Colorado Department of Education’s (CDE’s) Free Math Interventions page. In collaboration with Colorado Math Leaders (CML), CDE and the Colorado Council of Teachers of Mathematics (CCTM) led a group of Colorado educators and contractors in developing a collection of free toolkits designed for educators, families and out-of-school time professionals.

These Math Toolkits are designed to be completed within 1-3 hours, but there is some variability in timing based on the topic or the student group being taught. The first webpage of each toolkit serves as a comprehensive overview, introducing the toolkit's purpose, goals and listing required materials. The toolkits follow a structured approach with four key components: a pre-assessment to gauge initial understanding, comprehensive lesson(s) to explore mathematical concepts, a post-assessment to measure learning progress and real world learning/extensions to apply knowledge in practical contexts. In the classroom, these interventions are intended for teachers or interventionists to use in small groups or one-on-one with students. Explore the curated list, developed by Colorado educators and contractors, to support math learning statewide.
