About this course
Using the Building Blocks to Brain Development is Understand and Assess Learning Disabilities On Demand Course is the first of two in a series that presents the Building Blocks of Brain Development as a framework for building a body of evidence for Specific Learning Disability eligibility and to inform IEP development.
This course is made up of 19 videos spread across 6 modules. Estimated completion time to watch all the videos is four and half hours.
After viewing the modules, viewers can complete a brief evaluation and quiz to receive a certificate for five (5) hours of CDE recertification credit
Module 1 - Introduction to Building Blocks Brain Model (BBM) and Specific Learning Disability (SLD)
Module 1 consists of four videos.
Module 1.1 - Introduction: The "Why" A Framework For Our Professional Practice

The goal of Module 1.1 is to understand the general structure and purpose of the course.

This module is comprised of three videos.

- Why the "convergence" of data is essential in evaluations?
- Why we return to the fundamental level of the BBBM when the capstone block indicates academic struggles or deficits.

Module 6.3 BBBM and Writing Disorders
Duration: 14.5 minutes

- Name one Higher Order block that is linked to writing.
Course Evaluation & Certificate
To receive a certificate for this training please complete a brief evaluation and 12 question quiz. If you complete the quiz with 10 out of 12 questions correct you will be emailed a personalized CDE Clock Hour Certificate for five (5) hours of recertification credit. If you do not pass the quiz, you will receive an email with feedback and a link to try again. Please note that emails may take up to 60 minutes to arrive.
