Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education with Licensure
The early childhood education programs offered through our College of Adult and Graduate Studies will provide you with the skills to make a meaningful impact on the world’s next generation of learners. As a teacher candidate, you will study education theory and participate in field-based learning experiences that put you in the classroom. This unique combination of theory and practice will help you develop the competencies necessary to become an effective early childhood teacher. Taught from a Christian worldview, our early childhood education program courses are offered in the flexible, fully online format. Each course will help you serve the diverse learners of today's classrooms through servant-leadership in schools and school systems. Small class sizes encourage individualized learning and networking and give you direct access to instructors who are also professionals in the field. CCU's B.A. in Early Childhood Education degree (licensure) is designed for adult students nationwide and abroad who wish to obtain a Bachelor of Arts degree and a teaching license that allows them to teach pre-kindergarten through third grade in public, international, private, and public charter schools. Upon successful completion of this education program and meeting state requirements including content testing and background checks, graduates apply to the Colorado Department of Education for a Colorado teaching license. Out-of-state students will use their Colorado license to apply for licensure in their home state through their department of education’s teacher licensure transfer process.
