2023-2024 Suspension/Expulsion Statistics

The Student Discipline snapshot contains information about students disciplined based on the behavior, and the discipline action taken during the reported school year. The snapshot pulls data from the Discipline Action, Student Demographic and Student School Association Interchange files.

In previous years districts submitted total incident counts at the school level in three separate files: Discipline by Action, Discipline by Student Demographics, and Firearm Discipline. In 2023-2024, as part of the implementation of House Bill 22-1376, data is now reported at the student level and in one file. The student level data collection will improve accuracy and enable additional analysis as it will have the behaviors and the discipline actions taken for each incident, in addition to the student demographic information for each.

Behavior Data

• 2023-2024 Behavior by Gender (XLSX): This report shows discipline action counts by behaviors and by gender.
• 2023-2024 Behavior by Grade (XLSX): This report shows discipline action counts by behaviors and by grade.
• 2023-2024 Behavior by Race and Ethnicity (XLSX): This report shows discipline action counts by behaviors and by race/ethnicity.
• 2023-2024 Behavior by Student Services (XLSX): This report shows discipline action counts by behaviors and by Special Education students, students on a 504 plan, and English Language Learner students.
• 2023-2024 Behavior Incident Count by Behavior (XLSX): This report shows behavior incident counts by behavior.

Discipline Data

• 2023-2024 Discipline Action by Gender (XLSX): This report shows discipline action counts by students gender.
• 2023-2024 Discipline Action by Grade (XLSX): This report shows discipline action counts by students grade.
• 2023-2024 Discipline Action by Race and Ethnicity (XLSX): This report shows discipline action counts by students race/ethnicity.
• 2023-2024 Discipline Action by Student Service (XLSX): This report shows discipline action counts by Special Education students, students on a 504 plan, and English Language Learner students.
• 2023-2024 Discipline Action Taken (XLSX): This report shows count of discipline actions by discipline action type.
• 2023-2024 Discipline by Action Addition to Discipline Action (XLSX): In addition to a discipline action taken, this report shows counts of referral to law enforcement, students handcuffed and school related arrest counts.

Behavior Incident and Discipline Action Data

• 2023-2024 Behavior Incidents and Discipline Action Taken Total (XLSX): This report shows behavior incident counts by behavior and Count of discipline actions taken by behavior.
• 2023-2024 Behaviors Associated with Discipline Action Taken (XLSX): This report shows discipline action counts by behaviors.
