Alert Statuses and What They Mean
We often get asked what a particular status, which may show under the "Alerts" tab of your eLicensing account, means. Here is the list of alerts that may show and what each of them mean.
Alert |
Description |
|
No Fingerprint/Background Results Received (may also be a blank status) | This alert indicates that CDE has not received fingerprint results from the CBI and or the FBI. This status will be updated once we receive the results, there is no need to contact our office with inquiries regarding when the status will be updated as we will not know.
Must Resubmit Fingerprints per CDE/FBI | This is a rare alert and it indicates that the applicant's fingerprints have been rejected by the FBI, generally due to poor quality and/or characteristics of the actual fingerprint image. Generally, the rejection has nothing to do with any criminal history information or an applicant's fitness for licensure. If your prints were taken within the last 30 days at a fingerprint center, they generally will reprint you free of charge.
Cleared FP Background Check | This alert indicates that CDE has received fingerprint results from both the CBI and the FBI and that either no criminal history was returned or that CDE has cleared any criminal history that may have been returned.
Send to Investigations if Application is Received | This alert indicates that either a criminal history was returned from the CBI and/or FBI or that adverse information was received by our office. This alert means that until we receive an application - the background is NOT clear. Once we receive an application the background will be investigated at that time.
With Investigations for Review | This alert indicates that an application or credential has been referred to the Investigations Unit for a background investigation and/or clearance. This could be for a number of reasons, the most common are that a background issue is under investigation due to a self-disclosure, criminal history or notification of an arrest or other adverse information being received.
Account Under Review | This alert indicates that there may be an issue with your SSN or ITIN that was used. CDE will generally reach out to you for any next steps.
Do Not Submit Applications Under this Account | This alert is generally linked to the above alert as there may be a discrepancy with your SSN or ITIN and until that is resolved you should NOT submit any application to us. This is because all applications submitted to us are legal documents and as such they must be submitted in your legal account as verified by your SSN or ITIN. If you created an account using a number that was not yours, those applications are null and void. You may also see this alert if you are a school district HR person and this is the account used professionally for your eLicensing Verification Access (EVA).
