Charter School Technical Assistance Events

Thank you for visiting our events page. We are pleased that you have an interest in the events that the Schools of Choice Unit offers each year! There are a variety of quality technical assistance and professional development opportunities available to all charter schools operating in the state of Colorado. These events are meant to provide best practices for charter school operations, analyze charter school trends, and identify areas of growth and provide solutions to charter school practitioners in need of optimal support, as it is our goal to help create successful and sustainable charter schools. We hope to see you at one (or many) of our events!

*Please note CCSP Grant recipients must participate in technical assistance events offered by the Schools of Choice Unit as a prerequisite for grant funding.*

April Events

CSP Grant Budget Workshop

Date: Thursday, April 17h, 2024

Time: 9:30 a.m.- 11:30 a.m.

Details: This spring budget workshop walks newly awarded and existing charter school sub-grantees through the creation of Excel Budget Worksheet and/or GAINS budget submissions for the following grant year to provide clarification on how to best update their CCSP budget and obtain timely approval, as well as clarify allowable expenses to ensure federal compliance. This workshop is held virtually and will be recorded should you have a conflict or others who wish to view post-event. May Events

Administrator Mentoring Cohort- May

Date: Wednesday, May 1st, 2024

Time: 8:30 a.m.- 3:15 p.m.

Location:  Virtual Meeting via Zoom Meetings

Details: Schools of Choice Unit offers six Administrator Mentoring Cohort Meetings (AMC) throughout the year. Meetings are held in September, October, November, February, March, and May (changed from June). For the second year in a roll, all AMC meetings are scheduled in a hybrid format, in-person at host charter schools along the front range and virtually via an online platform. All sessions will take place from 8:00 am-3:15 pm. During this session, we will highlight Board Relations and Strategic Planning.

Statewide Business Manager Networking Meeting

Date: Thursday, May 9th, 2024

Details: Enhancing Charter School Meal Options: Panel Discussion offers charter school leaders a focused discussion on providing nutritious meals. This expert panel explores menu planning, budget constraints, student engagement, and regulatory compliance. This session offers practical insights to improve meal quality and accessibility, fostering healthier school environments.

Quarterly Authorizer Meeting

Date: Thursday, May 10th, 2024

Time: 9:00 a.m.- 3:00 p.m.

Location:  Virtual Meeting via Zoom Meetings

Details: Charter school authorizers are invited to join our quarterly Authorizer Meetings, held in collaboration with the Colorado Association of Charter School Authorizers (CACSA). Join this virtual event to hear programming updates from CDE, collaborate with other districts and authorizers, and share updates on your work. We hope to see you there.

Rural and Non-Metro Charter School Support Forum
