Regional Networking Meetings - Postponed
Because CDE has not yet received preliminary ESEA allocations for the 2025–2026 school year, the Regional Networking Meeting work sessions—originally scheduled to begin in May to support local educational agencies (LEAs) with completing the 2025–2026 Consolidated Application—are being postponed.
CDE will notify LEAs of the updated dates and locations once the preliminary allocations are received.
The Federal Programs and Supports Unit (FPSU) hosts regional network meetings and trainings throughout the year to support the completion of the ESEA Consolidated Application. See below for more information on upcoming meetings and past trainings. Please contact your LEA’s Regional Contact with any questions.
Winter Regional Network Meeting - 2025
The Federal Programs and Supports Unit (FPSU) hosted a Winter Regional Network Meeting (RNM) on February 27, 2025. The purpose of the RNM was to build understanding of Comprehensive Needs Assessments (CNA) and how to use a CNA to plan ESEA funds. The RNM shared updated guidance from the Family, School and Community Partnerships office and the US Department of Education. Lastly, the RNM provided time to network with other LEAs to learn more about the Consolidated Application process and implementation.

Spring Regional Network Meeting - 2025
The Federal Programs and Supports Unit (FPSU) will be hosting a training and several in-person work sessions this spring to support LEAs with the completion of the 2025-2026 Consolidated Application for ESEA funds. Anyone at your LEA who manages federal funds is encouraged to attend both the virtual training and a work session.
Virtual Training
FPSU hosted a virtual training session in collaboration with the Grants Program Administration (GPA) office. The purpose of this brief training was to share resources such as the updated Consolidated Application Planning Resource and GAINS system trainings that are available to assist LEAS in the completion of their Consolidated Application. After this training, managers of federal funds will have knowledge of available resources, know where to locate resources, and know who to contact with questions about their Consolidated Application.

In-Person Work Sessions
FPSU and GPA will be hosting in-person work sessions across the state to support LEAs in their work on the Consolidated Application. These in-person sessions provide a unique opportunity for one-on-one support with ESEA and GAINS specialists, dedicated work time, and regional networking. Please see the table below for specific dates, locations and registration links. We hope to see you there!
NOTE: Work sessions must have at least 10 LEA attendees registered 72 hours prior to the event in order for CDE to host the meeting in-person. Please register in advance of the meeting and encourage colleagues to do so as well. If less than 10 attendees are registered, meetings may be transitioned to being hosted virtually, in which case registrants will be notified.
