Attend a virtual Statewide Career Open House
CDE will participate in the Statewide Career Open House from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 23. The event is hosted in partnership with the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment and will be available via the Premier Virtual platform.

Colorado youth have extended access to free therapy
The I Matter program provides up to six free mental health sessions with a licensed provider and is open to youth 18 years of age or younger, or 21 years of age or younger if receiving special education services. With new funding, the program will extend until at least June 30, 2023.

Board approves order to begin Adams 14 reorganization process
The State Board of Education approved an order that begins the process to explore the reorganization of Adams 14 School District, which has had low academic performance for nearly a decade.

Applications being accepted for ESSER transportation assistance grant
School districts, BOCES, charter schools and nonprofit organizations are invited to apply for the ESSER Transportation Assistance Grant Program to help Adams 14 students attending low-performing schools access high-quality learning at a higher-performing school in the 2022-23 and 2023-24 school years.

Board advances program to fund transportation for students in low-performing school systems
Students attending low-performing schools in Adams 14 School District could have access to transportation to attend higher performing schools in the district or in adjacent districts under a new grant program endorsed by the state board at its May meeting.

Statewide survey results show most educators agree their schools are a good place to work overall
Eight out of 10 Colorado educators agreed that, overall, their school is a good place to work and for students to learn, according to the results of the biannual Teaching and Learning Conditions Colorado survey released on Wednesday, May 11.

Board directs Adams 14 to partner with TNTP while removing district accreditation, starting reorganization process
The Colorado State Board of Education removed Adams 14 School District's accreditation and initiated the process to reorganize the school district during the continuation of an extended accountability hearing that started in April.

ESSER Expanded Learning Opportunities Grant Program
CDE is making up to $10 million available for a grant program to support districts and community-based organizations in creating new, or expanding existing, expanded learning opportunities. Applications may be submitted with a maximum of $2 million per application and a maximum of $2,000 per student served annually.

SBE to explore transportation resources for students in low-performing schools
The State Board of Education approved a notice of rulemaking to implement a state law that allows CDE to help fund transportation for students in low-performing schools to attend higher performing schools.
