This 40+ hour readiness training is a free, self-directed, online training which fulfills the Behavior Analyst Certification Board’s (BACB) eligibility training requirements toward attaining a Registered Behavior TechnicianTM (RBTTM) credential. An RBT is a paraprofessional, teacher or practitioner who practices under the close, ongoing supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) or Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA). The RBT is primarily responsible for the direct implementation of behavior-analytic services, but does not design intervention or assessment plans. Other participants who might be interested in going through the course for content include: parents, school psychologists, social workers, counselors, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, school intervention team members, direct-care staff working in schools, homes or clinical settings, etc. Please note this course is only available to staff or families working/living in Colorado.

RBT Task List Content Areas:

  1. Measurement
  2. Assessment
  3. Skill Acquisition
  4. Behavior Reduction
  5. Documentation and Reporting
  6. Professional conduct and Scope of Practice

All lessons must be completed within 180 days. Every other week, students will have the opportunity to meet over Adobe Connect with one of the BCBA Certified Instructors to ask questions about the content and discuss case study scenarios that align with the content.
