Nominate a teacher to be the 2018 Colorado Teacher of the Year 

Winner will be announced in October

DENVER – Teacher Appreciation Week that lasts through Friday, May 12, is the ideal time to nominate a teacher to be the 2018 Colorado Teacher of the Year.

Each year the Colorado Teacher of the Year program honors an exceptionally dedicated, knowledgeable and talented K-12 classroom teacher to represent the entire profession in Colorado. The application for the 2018 Colorado Teacher of the Year is available now with application materials due on Thursday, June 1, 2017.

Nominees will be contacted by the Colorado Department of Education's Competitive Grants and Awards office and encouraged to apply for the award. Nominator information is not shared with the teacher.

The selected Colorado Teacher of the Year automatically becomes Colorado's nominee for the National Teacher of the Year competition. The current Teacher of the Year is Sean Wybrant, who is a Career and Technical Education teacher at William J. Palmer High School in Colorado Springs.
